In this review, we summarized recent results on antibody response and therapy in COVID-19 patients and further discussed the clinical significance of these results in the context of vaccine development. The first implication is in the safety of the vaccines. The second implication of the antibody responses in SARS-CoV-2-infected populations is related to the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. The third implication of the antibody responses in COVID-19 patients relate to the efficacy of vaccines in neutralizing SARS-CoV-2 mutants.
